The Lobby Barista is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. We proudly serve Starbucks Coffee for our guests, and as a Barista, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth transactions and excellent customer service. You’ll handle payments, craft beverages, assist customers, and maintain an organized checkout area.
Job Duties
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest and maintain a safe environment.
- Keep bar area clean in accordance with the company’s guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the night and be able to account for any and all discrepancies in the final drawer tally.
- Develop an efficient work pace that keeps the customers at the bar and in the dining room satisfied at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by taking food and drink orders efficiently, delivering food and drink items in a timely manner and with a smile.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, such as the espresso machine. Use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
- Provide legible communication
- Compute basic arithmetic
- Willing to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
- Ability to think clearly, can remain calm, and solve problems using good judgment
- Ability to follow specific directions thoroughly
