Crowne Plaza Hotel is currently hiring Host/ Hostess for our restaurant, Al's Table.
The primary role of the Host/Hostess is ensure the guest has a memorable experience by providing excellent customer service through solid organizational skills and exceptional people skills from the moment the guest arrives through the time of their departure.
Safety and Environmental Performance
Ensuring that all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to by personal example
Support full hotel compliance with safety rules to further our goal of zero (0) accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses
Adhere to SOPs and other work procedures as required to ensure guest satisfaction and consistent service is delivered to our patrons
Immediately report all injuries to Loss Prevention, as well as the manager on duty
Work Requirements
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and at whatever time of day
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
Maintain complete knowledge of:
a) Scheduled daily activities and in-house groups
b) Daily house count
c) Hotel extension numbers
d) Beeper number/radios carried by hotel personnel
e) Hours of operation of each outlet, ambiance, menu selections, and price range
h) Table/seat/station numbers, proper table setups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range, and Restaurants dress code
Prepare station charts and assign stations to associates
Set up Host/Hostess station with necessary supplies; always maintain cleanliness
Inspect the condition and cleanliness of menus and wine lists
Update menus and wine lists as changes occur
Inspect the restaurant environment and entrance area, ensuring that all standards are met; rectify any deficiencies; maintain cleanliness at all times.
Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently
Take, record, and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellations
Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests, however busy and whatever time of day
Escort and seat guests
Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests to designated personnel for follow-up
Extend courteous departures as guests leave the restaurant and invite them to return
Complete opening and closing duties as assigned
Be familiar with the operation of the POS system and manual system procedures
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Attention to detail
One-year minimum hosting experience
Basic mathematical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a quick-paced restaurant environment
Fluency in English verbal and non-verbal
Basic computer skills
Working Conditions
Performing under various temperature conditions
Operating outdoors and indoors
Heavy lifting
Standing for extended periods
Walking long distances
Under variable noise levels
Required to wear a company-provided uniform when applicable
Working around moving machinery/heavy equipment
Slippery and uneven walking surfaces
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds regularly
Must be able to move safely over uneven or slippery surfaces in confined spaces
Remain in a stationary position for 8 hours throughout the work shift
Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel
