Job Description
The Assistant Manager will assist the General Manager in maintaining a welcoming environment for the guest’s experience. In addition the assistant is responsible for maintaining profits from food and drink sales, having excellent communication and customer service skills, maintaining a clean environment and making effective decisions when needed.
Essential Functions
- Assigns and checks work; provides guidance, training, day-to-day direction, tracks and documents attendance records
- Ensures payroll accuracy
- Assists in managing the front-of-the-house staff, including recruitment and training, assuring all server Standard Operating Procedures are being followed
- Ensures food orders are accurately prepared and delivered timely according to company standards
- Assists with managing the financial aspects of the restaurant’s operation, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost control
- Analyzes operational problems such as over production, waste, theft, and establishes controls
- Oversee the guest experience
- Recommends measures to improve work procedures and employee performance to increase quality of services and job safety
- Place and monitor daily orders for all alcohol, soft drinks and food supplies keeping costs within budget and in relation to the day’s guests and/or groups’ demands
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3 + years of Food & Beverage experience
- POS Systems knowledge preferred (Micros)
- Possess a "hands on" management style with an eye for detail and strong interpersonal and leadership skills;
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse team environment
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Micros
- Basic mathematical skills
