The legendary Galt House Hotel is looking for a banquet bartender to serve beverages and food to the guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, resulting in a positive and consistent guest experience.
Job Responsibilities for a Banquet Bartender:
- Support the vision, mission, and service standards of the Galt House Hotel by providing positive, consistent service that exceeds guest expectations
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control and alcohol pour counts
- Practice "Teamwork" and "Clean as you Go" policies
- Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies the validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed to balance all money.
- Successfully complete TIPS Training
- Responsible for sanitation in and around the bar area
- Read and understand all particulars of Banquet Event Orders, including start time and
- beverage requirements
- After the function, remove inventory and all beverage equipment to proper storage
- Completes hotel guests' payment transactions as outlined in the cash and charge procedures
- Expediently communicate any challenges, guest complaints, or requests to the Banquet
- Captain
- Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards guests, co-workers, and management
- Provide beverage service to guests professionally and courteously consistent with established standards and levels of excellence
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications for a Banquet Bartender:
- Basic mathematical and computer skills necessary to operate a cash register, make a change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes
- Must exhibit strong customer service skills.
- Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail and multi-task oriented.
- Ability to use reason and strong judgment skills
- Sufficient manual dexterity in hands to use a knife to make garnish, pick up
- glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
- Ability to read, speak and understand the English language to communicate with guests and take orders
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- Must be a minimum of 20 years of age and a day to serve alcoholic beverages to hotel guests per KY Liquor Law.
