Senior Network Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of a 24/7 multi-site LAN/WAN/WLAN IP infrastructure. This role encompasses routing, switching, wireless, network security, unified communications, and load balancing to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance across all business locations. The Senior Network Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for enterprise-level networking projects, mentor junior team members, and develop best practices and technical standards to support the organization's long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and optimize enterprise-class LAN, WAN, and WLAN solutions.
  • Develop strategies for scalable, secure, and resilient network environments leveraging current and emerging technologies.
  • Translate business requirements into technical network and telecommunication solutions.
  • Approve and refine architecture designs to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Perform network readiness assessments, utilization trend analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Lead deployment, configuration, and support of routers, switches, firewalls, controllers, and wireless access points.
  • Develop and execute implementation plans for infrastructure upgrades, coordinating with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and audit all network documentation, diagrams, and asset inventories.
  • Ensure PCI-DSS compliance and adherence to cybersecurity best practices.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance and security.
  • Troubleshoot complex network and hardware issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to IT staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • Minimum 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience, including Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, SD-WAN and wireless administration.
  • Advanced expertise in Aruba and Cisco networking devices, routing/switching, and wireless technologies.
  • Strong experience with network security technologies including Palo Alto Firewalls, Aruba ClearPass NAC, and Radius.
  • Proven experience with BGP, HSRP, VSS, VSX, HSRP, and VLAN design.
  • Hands-on experience with VoIP troubleshooting in both wired and wireless environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration and VMware vSphere environments.
  • Experience with cabling standards, terminations, and low-voltage wiring.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • CCNP (preferred) / CCNA (required minimum).
  • CCNP Wireless, AWS, or Azure certifications (a plus).
  • Experience with Meraki, Linux, Datto, and remote management platforms.
  • PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Hospitality technology experience (preferred).

Work Environment

  • Onsite Office/data center environment with occasional travel to remote sites.
  • Availability for on-call rotation and after-hours support as required.
