Job Description
The Manager’s primary responsibility is to lead the daily operations of the Group Room Coordinators in actively securing reservations / selling all Galt House offerings to include rooms and dining reservations. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, sales-minded, customer-focused and detail-oriented with a high degree of computer literacy, willing to learn new processes, and with the ability to become part of a dynamic work environment. Must be self-motivated and work well under pressure.
Work Requirements
- Provide leadership to all Group Room Coordinators.
- Ensuring the successful development and deployment of group blocks within the property management system and other related systems.
- Ensuring optimization of guest room allocation for group blocks
- Partners with Group Sales and Convention Services ensuring that the direction provided to the Group Reservations Agents is in alignment with the Group Sales & Convention Services strategies.
- Implement training programs for all team members, instilling a sales culture oriented towards revenue optimization.
- Manage key human resource functions for all team members, including evaluations, hiring and training processes, and coaching and corrective action.
- Provide forecasting along with group arrival information to operational staff.
- Coordinate all reservation functions related to Thunder Over Louisville and Kentucky Derby, and communicate information to all departments.
- Follow sales techniques to optimize revenue.
- Strong ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
- Deliver the highest standard of service to all customers.
- Display effective computer literacy.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years related experience and/or training in reservation or hospitality industry is required.
- Candidates with a strong call center / sales background in non-hospitality related field will be considered.
- Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and possess excellent telephone etiquette.
- Ability to answer questions and successfully resolve issues and/or negotiate matters with tact, courtesy and patience.
- Must demonstrate basic computer skill with thorough knowledge of MS Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of Passkey, Opera, and Delphi is a plus.
