Housekeeping Manager (AM) - Crowne Plaza

Location: Louisville, KY

Job Description                                            

Supervise a large team of 50+ individuals to ensure consistency in all aspects of the Housekeeping Department, in order to meet and exceed the Crowne Plaza standards. The fast pace of the housekeeping department requires organization skills and knowledge of housekeeping operations. One must be able to multitask and handle repetitive work on a day to day basis. 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Support the Crowne Plaza hallmarks and standards. 
  2. Responsible for the Housekeeping Department opening procedures.
  3. Hire, train, schedule, coach and counsel associates and follow the company disciplinary procedures. 
  4. Schedule the guest room cleaning and follow up.
  5. Responsible for inspection of all areas to ensure cleanliness.
  6. Report needed repairs or unsafe condition of room to Engineering.
  7. Keep linen room locked; linen cart neat and organized to standards.
  8. Maintain security of equipment, keys, and supplies issued each day.
  9. Respond to housekeeping requests from guests or management in a timely, efficient manner.
  10. Able to cross function in the role of the Executive Housekeeper.
  11. Focus on the department meeting productivity standards and resolving operational problems.
  12. All other duties as required.

Education & Experience

  1. High School or equivalent preferred
  2. 5-7 years of hotel housekeeping experience preferred
  3. Have knowledge of hotel and housekeeping operations
  4. Supervisory experience preferred
  5. AH & LA Certification preferred
  6. Proficient computer skills including Word and Excel

Work Environment

This job operates within the Housekeeping department and on guest floors.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. One will be subjected to wet floors, cleaning chemicals and loud noises.  Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area within the hotel.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time exempt position with expectation to work necessary business hours to ensure business needs are met during the operation of the Housekeeping Department. 

Travel

This position requires no travel.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role supervises the housekeeping staff and supervisors.
